time for time
the new old way to pay
(a work in progress)
If time is money, let’s skip the middle man.
As a creator, it’s hard to find a balance between keeping your work accessible to people, paying yourself fairly, and still finding joy in it after all.
So, I’ve decided to simplify.
An hour of my time equals an hour of your time.
Now, you can’t exactly give me your time, but you can spend it on something that matters to me. Read more below about adopting my work by donating time to your community.
paying with community service
Some pieces are available in exchange for community service.
To trade for community service, you must contact me about the piece you’re interested in and provide documentation of service.
I prefer that you submit some kind of reflection about your work.
This could be written, it could be a voice memo or a video of yourself speaking, it could be an artwork that you do in response, feel free to get creative.
You may also provide photos, if it is appropriate to take them.
For example, it’s appropriate to take a selfie picking up trash, it is not appropriate to take a selfie while handing out food to people. In that case, maybe send me a pic of the food you prepared.
If there is a sign in/sign out for your activity, a photo of that is great.
Please do not photograph or take video of anyone without their consent.
paying by donation
Some available pieces are available in exchange for donating to mutual aid efforts.
Pieces that take less than an hour to produce, like patches and prints, are only available by donation.
To trade for a donation, you must contact me about the piece you’re interested in and provide proof of payment from a local-to-you mutual aid organization or current disaster relief effort.
I do not accept donations to religious groups, political campaigns, or for-profit organizations as payment.
paying with money
Some pieces are still straight up for sale.
This is typically reserved for pieces that take me many hours to produce and are more difficult to part with.
A percentage of these sales will be donated to local-to-me mutual aid organizations.
To purchase a piece, contact me about the piece you’re interested in and I will provide my payment information. Paypal/Venmo/Cashapp available.
